Lions, Tigers & Bears OH MY!

We saw Lions & Tigers but no bears, they are still hibernating. It's best not to wake the beast! Yesterday, Josh, his Aunt Lori and I visited the Wildlife Safari in Winston, OR. This park opened in October 1972. If you are interested in visiting their address is 1790 Safari Road Winston, OR. They also have an RV park, which didn't appear to be open in the winter.

I've always wanted to visit this place but it almost didn't happen because the tickets are kind of pricy, but the RV Resort we are staying at here in Canyonville, OR offers tickets for $12.00/person.

The Wildlife Safari did not disappoint. The drive around the park took about an hour and then you can park your car and visit the walkthrough exhibit which display's some of the park's smaller animals. The Safari has Oregon's only African elephants and maned wolves.

While driving the loop around the Safari you are right there with the animals, most of them are wandering freely in the 600 acre's, other's are in open cages. We saw so many amazing animals like giraffe's, flamingos, hippopotamus', and many more.

The Wildlife Safari features over 500 animals from all around the globe. As their website states the park gives you the chance to escape on a wild African Safari and get up close to Ostrich, Watusi cattle, Lions and Zebras.

This park is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit and self-funded park. Support is raised through ticket sales, memberships, donations and volunteer assistance.

I highly recommend if you are in Southern Oregon you visit this amazing place.
